Looking To Get Out

On this week’s episode of Someone Else’s Movie, director Rama Rau — maker of such recent documentaries as No Place to Hide: The Rebekah Parsons Story, League of Exotique Dancers and The Daughter Tree — dives into Andrea Arnold’s 2009 drama Fish Tank.

I’m sort of surprised that no one’s picked an Arnold film before now — and Rama’s choice makes perfect sense, since it has some themes in common with her own first feature, Honey Bee (which opens in Toronto on Friday, and which is very good), so I was really glad for the chance to get into it.

And because we recorded this at the tail end of TIFF, of course we talk about all the other stuff we’ve been seeing. It’s unavoidable at this point.
