So Much for Resolutions

An image of Kyle Marvin and Michael Angelo Covino, the co-stars of The Climb.A still from Matteo Garone's Reality.I didn’t do a Friday post last week. I’m sorry. I was busy, things were wild, various other excuses. But here’s NOW’s What to Watch page, as well as my expanded review of Promising Young Woman and stand-alone looks at Doug Liman’s COVID heist comedy Locked Down and Marvel’s ambitious, weird and weirdly ambitious Disney+ series WandaVision.

And now, back to today’s stuff! The latest episode of Someone Else’s Movie features Michael Angelo Covino and Kyle Marvin, two pals who turn their friendship into extremely uncomfortable dramedy in the excellent new film The Climb, on Matteo Garrone’s 2012 drama Reality, a film I wasn’t too enthused about at the time but which plays a lot better on second viewing.

You know what to do, right? Subscribe on Apple PodcastsGoogle Play and Stitcher and get the episode immediately, or download it directly from the web.

And then turn your attention to NOW What, which today features Rad chairing a panel discussion on Promising Young Woman with Teri Hart, Farrah Khan, Kathleen Newman-Bremand and Eric Shiner; it’s a good conversation, even if I don’t agree with about two-thirds of the interpretations offered therein. And don’t forget last Friday’s episode, which found Glenn and five of the six people who posed for this year’s Love Your Body issue discussing the experience of putting the package together. It’s a good one! They’re both good ones! Podcasts are fun!

Look, it’s the last full day of Donald Trump’s presidency. Let’s all enjoy ourselves.
